Beatitude Supreme Happiness Treatment Review

We have been delighted this year to have developed a professional treatment that complements our aromatherapy retail line. We were asked by Fletcher's Cottage Spa in East Lothian to create a treatment that would be different to their existing treatment menu and offer their client's a new and different aromatherapy massage.

This was both an exciting and challenging proposal and so I went through all the professional manuals from many training courses (spanning 25 years) and I started by making notes and putting together different massage movements to create a new treatment, and changing the typical aromatherapy sequence. This combined with our luxurious serum like plant oils (Daikon Radish, Oat Oil, Camellia Oil) with the pure essential oil blends plus the introduction of the Hot Stones results in a fabulous, flowing treatment where you feel relaxed yet uplifted after the massage. After lots of trials on family and friends I presented the Beatitude Supreme Happiness treatment and manual to Fletcher's Spa in the Spring and I am happy to say that this treatment has been really well received and we have had lots of great feedback from clients and this rather fabulous review of the Supreme Happiness treatment from Ruth Walker at the Scotsman - See Below.

Christmas Shopping & Fairs 2013

We are madly in the throws of preparing (and packing) for the forthcoming Christmas Season.

This is our busiest time of the year and our feeling is that we can all do with a little Peace, Patience and Joy on the run up to this rather busy but fun time of the year. We will have our full range of bath oils, luxury soaps, facial oil and our new body oils - all will be available to smell and try.

This year we are delighted to be taking Beatitude to the Living North Christmas Fair (stand A1) - The Essence of Christmas and this starts on the Thursday 7th November until Sunday 10th November 2013 and this event is at the Newcastle Racecourse, opens at 10 am until 4pm.
Living North is a regional, northern glossy magazine and is beautifully presented. You can read more about Living North and their events at www.livingnorth.com.

We are also thrilled to be returning to the Country Living Fair at the SECC Glasgow 21-24th November, stand F36.  This is where we launched our range 2 years ago and the support, encouragement and feedback from this show was incredible - we will always have a special place for this event. It is superbly well organised and we were honoured that the Beatitude Skin Salvation has been selected for the all Country Living VIP ticket holders. We have hand filled, labelled and created an exclusive travel size for Country Living and we are looking forward to seeing and meeting some of the radiant Country Living VIP's. We are thrilled that for the month of September we are running a special promotion with the beauty shortlist.com - this is one of favourite beauty blogs and we love the fact that they are 80% Glam, 90% Green, 100% behind ethical health & beauty brands.

Here is the review of the new Beatitude Body Oils and our new Supreme Happiness  treatment which is now available at the Fletcher's Cottage Spa, East Lothian.

Peace, Joy and Patience (and 20% OFF!): BEATITUDE’S NEW BODY OIL TRIO

beatitude body oil trio
Three new things to fall in love with at Beatitude this month!  They’re Rebecca O’Connor’s deliciously-scented Peace, Joy and Patience Aromatherapy Body Oils, the new collection from her much lauded Scottish bath and body brand.
And…we have an exclusive 20% OFF offer across all Beatitude products during ORGANIC SEPTEMBER till the end of the month  - simply use SHORTLIST at checkout…but more on that later!
We fell in love with her Joy Bath Oil £22 two years ago – it was a Beauty Shortlist Awards Finalist last year – so it’s exciting to see these silky, serum-feel, 100% natural aromatherapy body oils hit the market in time for gift-giving season.
beatitude 1
Beautitude’s trio of new Aromatherapy Body Oils contain a succulent, silky blend of pure essential oils to create three different moods/treatments. Rebecca has sourced Oat oil, Daikon Radish oil, Peach kernel oil and Camellia oil, the perfect “fab four” to soften, heal, smoothe and boost skin’s elasticity.

“Beatitude, a state of supreme happiness”

Beatitude’s fans include Kate Shapland, Beauty Editor at The Telegraph. Kate handpicked Beatitude to be one the brands on her exciting new venture MyShowcase.com - an accolade in itself.
Beatitude comes to Fletcher’s Cottage Spa at the Archerfield Estate
Beatitude has launched at Fletcher’s Cottage Spa at the Archerfield Estate, East Lothian (which you may have spotted in Harpers, etc?) We haven’t had one (yet – hint!) but Beatitude’s Supreme Happinesstreatment sounds like something we’ll be having every other day if/when we strike it rich.
The Supreme Happiness treatment is 75 blissful minutes of stress-melting hot stones, incorporating a full body and scalp massage (try not to nod off) with Swedish, acupressure and deep tissue massage techniques too, to specifically work on problem areas and loosen tight muscles and ease stress.  All this, while your body is infused with exquisite plant oils (we’ll change that from “every other day” to “every day” then)…

“Say spa-ahh!”  The uber-relaxing looking Fletcher’s Cottage Spa at the Archerfield Estate
So let’s have a look at the new Aromatherapy Body Oil trio, each one presented in a beautiful 100ml glass decanter style bottle:
If this Grapefruit, Bergamot, Orange, Mandarin and Petitgrain Body Oil doesn’t energise you, we can’t think what will? Beautitude calls their Joy Body Oil  ’Sunshine in a bottle’ which all becomes clear as the cheering effects take hold and you, and life, both feel better…
This is the “therapy” oil.  Rosemary, Ginger, Lavender and Juniperberry give this product a slightly spicy, stimulating, clearing aroma. It’s a great go-to oil for before or after sports and to have on hand for everyday aches and strains.
Aka the calming comforter: Ylang Ylang, Lavender, Cedarwood and Petitgrain, Peace is perfect for an autumn Sunday night in.
Beatitude makes a gorgeous Facial Serum too (Skin Salvation), and the Bath Oils would make gorgeous Christmas gifts!
Beatitude’s new Body Oils are £34 each

TEMPTED?  BEATITUDE are giving Beauty Shortlist readers 20% OFF site-wide until 30th September, so make sure you enter SHORTLIST at checkout. Can be used multiple times, code expires on 30/09/13 at midnight.

Beatitude Products - Photography

The Beatitude Aromatherapy Products

We have been really lucky in finding some brilliant photographers for our aromatherapy products.
It helps having the most (in our opinion) beautiful French bottles but a really big thank you to Caroline Trotter, in Fife (www.carolinetrotter.co.uk) who got us started and more recently to Emma Martin (emmamartinphotography.co.uk)who is a fellow mumpreneur and very talented lady. Here is a snapshot of their work.

Beatitude - Blog of Beatitude Products

So at last I am making a start on a blog. I am a wee bit overdue on doing this partly due to a bit of techno fear about what a blog is and how you do it. I remember very clearly my mother getting in the most dreadful panic when our Betamex video arrived, and I vowed at the age of 8 not too get scared of new technology and developments but if I am honest this is easier said than done..

This will be a diary of my journey in building the Beatitude brand, creating awareness about the benefits about aromatherapy and hopefully this will be an interesting read for anyone thinking about setting up and starting their own business.

I launched Beatitude at the Country Living Fair Glasgow in November 2011. I think I had possibly the smallest size stand you could possibly get - a bit bigger than a phone box (if you remember these), but the best thing for me was actually meeting customers and getting their feedback on the products. It was wonderful to get such positive feedback from folk (and my first sales) and from here on in I felt I was on the right track.

The First Beatitude Stand at the Country Living Fair Glasgow 2011

The first Beatitude products were the bath oils. Having been in the beauty industry for more than 20 years I felt there was a gap in the market for high strength therapeutic bath oils that would disperse in the water and that were also blended with some of the more beneficial plant oils rather than just using the cheaper grapeseed or almond oils. The Beatitude bath oils are in a base of Oat Oil, Camellia Oil and Peach Kernel Oil - the feel and texture of these oils is really quite different and they also ensure that your skin is left feeling silky smooth afterwards, not to mention the fact that you are not left with the awful greasy rim around your bath!

I have developed 3 quite different blends (in 2 sizes) and these really reflect (very generally) the main reasons why my clients were having aromatherapy:
Beatitude Aromatherapy Bath Oils

Peace Bath Oil is for relaxation - This has a delicate floral aroma which comes from Ylang Ylang and is balanced with the woody notes of petitgrain and cedarwood and this blend also contains lavender. This is a brilliant blend if you are feeling stressed, are having problems switching off or generally want to improve well-being and feel soothed.

Patience Bath Oil is for general aches and strains. This has a spicy aroma with Ginger (fantastic warming properties), Rosemary, Lavender and Juniperberry. This blend has a much more herbal, tonic feel to it and is highly recommended after exercise or as a general tonic. All essential oils are antiseptic but this blend really packs a powerful punch if you are feeling run down. I had pneumonia 2 years ago and for weeks I could not get rid of the shivers. The Beatitude bath oils were still in development at this stage but this blend stood out for me at this time and this was the first formula to be confirmed as I was really pleased at how effective these essential oils worked together.

Joy Bath Oil is for cheering and uplifting. Bergamot is one of my favourite essential oils. I have used this many times over the years with brilliant effects. I have found it one of the most effective anti-depressant oils. This blend combines the very best citrus essential oils - sweet orange, grapefruit and mandarin and we have had some wonderful feedback about this blend. The purpose of this formula is to give you a 'lift' - and this has been nicknamed our Sunshine in bottle. It is worth noting though that this oil will not over stimulate and therefore you can use before bedtime -  It is more mentally uplifting than physically stimulating.
